Fue reconocido como la reencarnaci\u00f3n de Loter Wangpo, un maestro realizado de la doctrina secreta y sostenedor del trono de Ngor, uno de los linajes de la tradici\u00f3n Sakya. Posteriormente fue entronizado como El Shabdrung de Ngor Labrang mon\u00e1stico de Khangsar. Fue uno de los principales disc\u00edpulos de Khenchen Ngawang Lodro Shenphen Nyingpo y recibi\u00f3 empoderamientos, ense\u00f1anzas y transmisiones orales de sutras, tantras en general, y profundas ense\u00f1anzas de LAM DRE (Lam Bras) (El sendero y sus resultados).
