Su padre fue Dagnyi Chenpo Sangpo Pal, el und\u00e9cimo sostenedor del trono. Su madre fue Machig Yon Dagmo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poco despu\u00e9s de la muerte de Sangpo Pal, uno de sus hijos mayores, Kunga Lodro Gyaltsen, dividi\u00f3 a todos sus hermanos en cuatro ramas que resid\u00edan en cuatro phodrang o palacios diferentes: Zhitog, Lhakang, Rinchengang y Ducho. Khetsun Namkha Legpe Gyaltsen se convirti\u00f3 en el jefe de la rama de Zhitog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khetsun Namkha recibi\u00f3 muchas ense\u00f1anzas sobre sutra y tantra, instrucciones orales y pr\u00e1cticas rituales de su padre y otros maestros eruditos y consumados. En 1324, fue entronizado como titular del trono Sakya.
