El vig\u00e9simo quinto sostenedor del trono Sakya, Ngagchang Dragpa Lodro Gyaltsen, era su hermanastro. El gran maestro Jamyang Thutob Wangchug (1588 - 1637) era su sobrino. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jamyang Sonam Wangpo tuvo muchos alumnos aventajados.
