H.E. Chogye Trichen Rinchen Paljor Rinpoche is the 27th throne holder of Tsarpa sub sect of Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. At the age of eight, Rinpoche took his novice vow with his granduncle His Eminence the 25th Chogye Trichen Rinpoche in Lumbini Monastery and was named Ngawang Rinchen Paljor.
In 1992, His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche had envisioned Rinpoche to be his Shabdrung (successor).Hence he was enthroned as Shabdrung Ngawang Richen Paljor. Rinpoche then studied under His Eminence’s guidance.
Rinpoche was educated formally in Sakya Institute and Sakya College under the tutelage of Khenchen Sonam Gyatso Rinpoche and late Khenchen Migmar Tsering Rinpoche on major Buddhist texts and graduated from College obtaining the degree of Ka Chu Pa (Bachelor of Arts).
Rinpoche has received major teachings and transmissions from His Holiness 41st Sakya Trichen Rinpoche, His Holiness Jigdral Dagchen Rinpoche, His Holiness 42th Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, His Eminence late Chogye Trichen Rinpoche and His Eminence Ludhing Khenchen Rinpoche. He has also conducted several meditation retreats at Lumbini Monastery, Mustang and Jamchen Lhakhang monastery under the direct guidance of His Eminence late Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.
On January 11th of 2019, Rinpoche was enthroned as the 27th Chogye Trichen Rinpoche of Tsarpa School of Sakya Tibetan Buddhism. This holy event was presided over by His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche and attended by many followers in Kathmandu, Nepal.
